The Alpha Principle is a philanthropic enterprise formed by Tuba Gursoy in 2005. The quest is to nurture growth for artists and creative entrepreneurs by unifying physical, philosophical and sociological principles which underlie creative disciplines. Contrary to some generalised assumptions, the Alpha Principle is not a religious or cult entity, but a description of our plans to inspire ambition and success in the arts.

Our dream is to set up 3 creative projects in the UK, which fulfill different needs in creative communities.

The first of these projects is well underway and was launched in 2007 in Norwich. Unit 5 studios is an experimental arena, set up on a minimal budget of £5,000 aimed at uniting a dispersed creative community and providing affordable spaces to enable individuals to focus on and to develop current practice. It is essentially the first Alpha experiment and has proven a useful learning tool for future projects and taught us everything we need to know in order to bridge gaps in quality and concept, ready for our next project.
